Due Midnight, Sunday, Jan 31st, 2010 (Day Section)
Due Midnight Friday, Feb 05 (Evening Section)

Install Alice 3.0
Install Alice 2.x
Test Install

You should install Alice 2.x from the disk included with the text. (The classroom has 2.0, you might want to install 2.2 which allows you to make a QuickTime movie of your world - it also fixes a few bugs).

You should install Alice 3.0B from http://kenai.com/projects/alice or the CD given to you in class.

Test the installations by

* creating a world in Alice 2.x called <Your Intials>2.XTest090128.a2w. For example, my world would be wbm2.0Test090128.a2w if I had installed Alice 2.0 The test world should contain a character who does something. For example, you could have a penguin move 5 meters forward.
* creating a world in Alice 3.0 called <Your Intials>3.0Test090128.a3p. For example, my world would be wbm3.0Test090128.a3p. The test world should contain two characters who do something as specified below.
o One character should be a Looking Glass character that does something more complicated that the primitives for Alice 2.x. For example, you could choose the Magician to kneel.
o The other character should be a regular Alice gallery character that does something similar to the first Alice world.

Submit both worlds to Blackboard using the assignments tab.

USE THE DROP BOX AT YOUR PERIL - THERE ARE PEOPLE OILING THE HINGES OF THE GATES OF HELL FOR USING THE DROPBOX LAST YEAR. IT WILL TAKE THEM A LONG TIME TO RECOVER. Make life easy on yourself, do not use the drop box.
